As a Founder of The Oriental School and Oriental Group, I am duty-bound that every child of our school excels in his chosen field when he goes to college to acquire higher studies. Since 1995, the Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Foundation, Bhopal has set up charitable and educational objectives to promote the educational advancement in the field of Technical education. It further aims to propagate this at grass root level as well and has tried to do so through this amazing school. The mission of the advisory board is to contribute knowledge and influence not only the lives of its students, but even the academicians and researches, to support the continuing education and research in the field of education.
MR. SAS KIRMANI (Renowned educationalist with over 40 years of experience)
He is on advisory board of many schools and educational institutions to provide academic and administrative support system for emerging as well as existing schools. He was a member of the Draft Formulation Committee of Computer Literacy Awareness Program (CLASS) jointly sponsored by NCERT and Ministry of Education in the year 1984. In his initial years he has worked as senior physics faculty at D.P.S. R.K. Puram. Mr. Kirmani articulated, designed and implemented the Global Education and Training Model which has become the foundation for the huge success for students preparing for various entrance examinations.
MR. SHYAM JOSHI (Renowned Mathematician and National Level Trainer)
His journey began as a student from village school to become a successful Physics teacher later. During his stint as a teacher, he has coached several students preparing for various competitive examinations. His immense contribution in the field of analytical reasoning and quantitative aptitude has become the backbone of new generation Olympiads.
DR. VINITA (Counsellor, Child Psychology & Parental Needs )
Dr. Vinita has been instrumental in putting ideas to execution, which is the common driving force at The Oriental School. She has focused on developing exceptional capabilities in the global mapping arena.
She holds a Doctorate in Toxicology from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and MBA (HR) from Newport University, California. She has organized several workshops, seminars and counselling sessions for the children.She strongly believes that education must be socially oriented and in the direction of meeting social needs.

Admission Guidelines

STEP 1 – Registration for Admission
Parents can register their child for admission to The Oriental School using any one of the following options:
- Purchase the registration form from the school, duly fill it and submit it at the school.
- Download the registration form from the school website, take a print, duly fill it and submit it at the School, along with the registration fee.
Note: Registration does not guarantee Admission.
STEP 2 – Interaction / Assessment
Admission seekers for Nursery to Grade 2 will have an oral interaction with the School Principal / Head of Admissions. The interaction will be a pleasant exchange of ideas. We are interested in knowing about the child’s educational development, use of language, social skills, academic enthusiasm and extra-curricular interests. Interaction is to find out what the student knows, understands and enjoys. The child may also be asked to perform some simple activities.
Admission seekers for Grades 3 to 8 will have a written assessment in English and Mathematics. Syllabus for written assessment will be based on previous class attended by the child. The test is conducted just to ensure the entry level assessment of the child.
STEP 3 – Submission of Admission Documents
Post the registration process, parents can collect the admission docket (It comprises of Admission Form, Medical Form, Transport Application Form, Local Guardian Authorization Form and Fee Structure applicable) from the school admission office. The duly filled forms with necessary documents as detailed below and in the admission form has to be submitted to the school ones within the stipulated time period as given by the school authorities.

i. Birth Certificate copy of the applicant.
ii. 3 Passport Size Photographs of student.
iii. Original School Transfer Certificate of the applicant (Applicable for Grade I onwards).
iv. Copy of Report Card of previous class.
v. Copy of Residence Proof (Rent agreement, Voter ID, Electricity bill).
vi. Aadhar Card copy of Applicant.
vii. Bank Account Details of either Parent.
viii. Transport Application Form.
ix. Medical Form.
x. Copy of Vaccination Card.
xi. Local Guardian Authorization Form.
xii. 3 Passport Size photographs of Father, Mother, Guardian.
xiii. Copy of photo identity of Parents.
xv. Samagra ID
STEP 4 – Completion of Admission Formalities
Completion of Admission formalities will include payment of fee within the stipulated time period as given by school authorities. Successive admission numbers will be allotted to students on their admission and each student should retain this number throughout his/her presence in the school.
NOTE
Admissions up to Class VIII (i.e. Class VIII and below) shall be regulated by the rules, regulations, orders of the State/U.T. Governments applicable to Bhopal.
Admission Preferences
- All students will be granted admission on a priority basis.
- The neighborhood residence parameter shall be considered only if it is a norm by the local regulatory authority.
- Admission preference shall be extended to the student’s siblings. However, the minimum admission criteria will be applicable.
Students With Special Needs
- Admissions to children with special needs cannot be refused as per RTE.
- Admissions of children with special needs shall be routed through Devi Shakuntala Thakral Charitable Foundation. This decision shall be considered final. The decision shall be based on facilities and services that can be offered by the school concerned.

Facilities
Wide range of Facilities Available at campus
School is the place where children learn, grow, and develop into responsible individuals. To ensure that students receive a holistic education, our school provides wide range of facilities that cater to the overall development of a child.
School sports facilities are used to deliver the formal curriculum, increase participation levels and provide facilities for the wider community.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Our school rules are the standards of behaviour, values and set of principles that we expect from our learners. These clearly state what the school considers indispensable. These rules aim to promote supportive surroundings at the school, uphold effective teaching and a learning environment as well as foster mutual respect between staff members and the learners.
We encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour and the consequences of their actions. Most school policies and rules are clear and consistent: clear so that a learner knows what is and is not allowed at school; and consistent so that he/she knows what is likely to happen if they break the rules.
School Discipline Policy
Please ensure that you have read this document. It can be downloaded from the school website or you can get a copy of the school discipline policy and rules from the office. These are available for both students and parents to access. We also have a school handbook or information booklet for parents and students. This is normally given out at the beginning of each year and states the school rules. Changes are made herein at the start of the academic session and are announced at the school assembly. The newsletter too carries the amendments and a circular is sent home for the parents to be in knowledge of the same. The notice-board too displays this information for a few weeks.
Attendance
We consider regular and punctual attendance as essential for effective learning, if students are to make the most of the educational opportunities available to them. Parents, guardians and teachers have a duty to ensure maximum attendance at school. The members of staff identify patterns of irregular attendance at the earliest opportunity and work to resolve any personal or social difficulties.
Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND)
If your child has a Special Educational Need or a Disability, parents are advised to book an individual appointment with the Headmaster and the SEND Co-ordinator to discuss provisions for the child in more detail.
Pupil Safety
This is one of our primary concerns. We ensure that children are safe and secure during the school hours. We have high technology surveillance through closed circuit cameras to ensure that no bullying, ragging or intimidation occurs on our premises.
Pick Up and Drop Off Policy
While we have a robust transport facility, parents are welcome to drop and pick their wards. However, we would request them to use car pools to avoid causing traffic congestion around the school area. Parents are expected to take responsibility for getting their children to and from school. Once a student has been collected by a parent or has left the school grounds, the school has no responsibility to enforce rules regarding a student’s behaviour. However, we appreciate good manners at all times as these children are our brand-ambassadors.
Responsible Behavior Plan
Our school has specific punishments for different levels of behavior; however, individual circumstances will be taken into account. These are known as ‘Responsible Behavior Regulations’. The management has the right to suspend or exclude a learner on the grounds of misconduct, disobedience, involvement in drugs or violence. In case, a learner is a first time offender, he/she will be counseled by the school counselor. Our intention is to create an outward looking and a progressive ethos at our institution.
